INS Secretariat

The INS has a full-fledged secretariat at the INS Buildings at Rafi Marg, New Delhi. The secretariat is headed by Mr. V. Shankaran, Secretary, Assisted by  Deputy Secretaries Mr. K. K. Kohli & Mr. P. Manomohan  and other  Officers and Staff  members. The Secretary and officers are assisted by about 40 staff members.

The secretariat is responsible for all day to day activities, correspondence on behalf of INS, pursuing matters of interest for publications with central and state governments and other organizations. It provides support to the Executive Committee, the Advertising Committee and other Sub Committees.

It monitors the arrears of payment to member publications regularly through a Monthly Review Verification (MRV) system and takes up the matter with defaulting advertising agencies to help the member publications recover their dues from the advertising agencies.

The secretariat has been following up issues of common concern for publications such as Customs Duties for newsprint, Wage Board matters etc. with the concerned bodies.
